Attacking the glue from the side with a razor blade you will be surprised at how easily it comes off. Cover the stain with this paste and then place plastic wrap over it overnight. This is most important if the granite has a finish. After you have finished having your granite countertop installed it is a good idea to remove the old install material that was used to cover the old finish.
