Confused by revit roofs.
Revit wall from roof to roof.
The wall must be attached to the target roof and the target roof must be a footprint roof.
This is a general.
Select the wall tool and choose a wall from the type selector.
On the options bar for overhang enter 600 and select defines slope.
Create a sloped roof with an overhang.
Being able to detach the wall from the roof.

Hello i m relatively new to revit and this forum and i hope i m doing this right.
If i delete the roof or modify it it deletes the attached wall.
My problem ist that when i make a section the outer wall goes into the roof.
You will get all the answer in this short and efficient video.
On the properties palette set the top constraint for the walls to unconnected and specify a height of 4000.
Now i need to remodel the roof but i can t detach the walls.
You can join roofs to other roofs or walls or unjoin them if they were previously joined.
If necessary use the viewcube to spin the design to facilitate selecting the wall or roof edges.
On the draw panel click pick walls.
To unjoin roofs click modify tab geometry panel join unjoin roof.
Place the 3 walls in the plan view.
Click modify tab geometry panel join unjoin roof.
You can join a roof to the top face of another roof and the wall below that roof if you select the wall as the target.
In the drawing area highlight an entry wall.
But i want it to end at the roof where i painted the red line.
I have attached a number of walls to a flat roof.

You cannot join a roof to more than one top face of another roof.
When a dashed line is displayed on the exterior of the wall press tab to select the chain of walls and click to place the roof lines.
Next the walls need to be moved to the roof line to create the dormer.
I hope my problem is clear when you look at the screenshot.
