What s the easiest way to show our beams without too.
Set the silhouettes to a linetype of medium width.
There is 3 ways to fix this issue.
Revit beams are also known as structural framing.
So i m modelling the roof space which is a liveable area.
In the properties dialog box for the view you want to see the overhang lines in set the underlay drop down to be the level on which the roof was created.
And here comes our first problem with revit.
For some visual styles select this check box to display lines on edges in the view.
The first one is to right click the blue boundary point of the wall and click on disallow join.
Hi i have what i think is a common problem but can t see any answers to it anywhere.
There are many situations when you need to show the outline or boundary of overhead elements on your plan views.
I have the cut plane 1200mm above the loft floor so it essentially cuts the roof in half.
I recommend medium lines so between 0 3mm and 0 5mm.
In some cases you want to see a line between two walls especially in a case where an interior wall is joined with an exterior wall.
Typical arhictectural floor plan view shows particular level with it s cut plane set approximately 120cm from the level.
I would like to be able to show the part of the roof that is above the cut plane in a dotted style and that below in default style.
Select from predefined visual settings such as wireframe or realistic to set the visual style of the view.
Access the graphic display options by clicking the cube next to the sun icon on the view control bar.
This setting honors changes to line styles and visibility of hidden line subcategories as specified in the visibility graphics dialog.
By default all walls created in revit are joined together.
Some typical scenarios are the include the outline of the perimeter of the roof the outline of an entrance canopy roof light positions etc.
Smooth lines with anti aliasing.
It also displays hidden lines defined using the show hidden lines by element tool of the view menu.
Also beams from the level above are shown in floor plans.
Now the next step is to select the linework tool from the modify tab view panel.
