Replacing shower tile.
Mark the shower tile layout.
In my case i wanted to keep the tub.
Get some ceramic tile adhesive or thinset tile.
Remove any fixtures that surround your tiles to prevent damage.
Check if any of the tiles you re replacing intersect.
Install a moisture barrier paper or plastic sheeting over the studs.
Once demolition of the old tile is complete install a cement backer board in the shower area image 1.
Cover your workspace and drains with a drop cloth to prevent any damage.
If this is seen the backerboard needs to be replaced.
Inspection of leaks should also be done at this stage so that proper plumbing may be done before the actual tile work.
