My question can the jamb somehow be repaired. Sometimes carpenters can fill that space in with wood and since its painted it would hide the fact that its a sliver of wood down there. Don t throw your doors into a landfill after a floor remodel because they are too short. Fix them with the wood door extender.

Once the much thinner laminate and underlayment was installed it became painfully obvious. A couple of plinth blocks will take up the slack. Is it faster. Prior the carpet was plusher and made the gap in this one door jamb less obvious.
