Cleaning mildew from a boat carpet is not difficult.
Remove mold from boat carpet.
Let the vinegar sit for at least an hour before blotting or scrubbing the area.
Consider using a specialty canvas mold cleaner scrubbing gently with a soft brush if necessary.
It should lift right off the carpeting but will leave behind a messy residue.
Use a sponge to scrub the carpet and allow it to air dry.
Rinse with fresh water thoroughly.
Mold and mildew enjoy dark and moist areas and if it s humid the faster mold will grow.
Four quarts of freshwater one quart of bleach 2 3 cup tsp and 1 3 cup of laundry detergent.
My favorite way to clean the carpet in my boat is to get down and scrub it with a scrub brush and mild detergent.
There are plenty of harsh chemicals on the market but a homemade remedy can be created that will also do the trick.
Let it dry overnight.
Scrub the mossy spots with the scrub brush.
The strong odor from the vinegar will dissipate within a few hours.
Blot any wet areas until dry then vacuum.
Using a toothbrush scrub the moldy carpet until the particles loosen from the carpet fibers.
You will want to clean the flooring below the carpet in the same manner scrubbing it with the soapy water mixture.
However if you used baking soda with the vinegar it will remove any odors from the carpet along with the mold.
To remove mold and mildew try using a solution of bleach water tsp tri sodium phosphate and powdered laundry detergent mixed in the following proportions.
Use an enzymatic cleaner for mold caused by pet stains.
Using a stiff scrubbing brush apply a soap and water mixture to the area.

If your boat has a lot of moss you may want to sweep up the moss pieces before rinsing to avoid spraying moss debris all over the driveway.
This is probably the first thing to do when you detect mold and mildew on your boat carpet.

Place it on the deck under the sun so ultraviolet light kills mold and mildew.
