Remove Cracks From Vinyl Records

Place a clean soft towel or sheet on top of a table or clean hard surface and lay your record on top.

Take your time when cleaning with a toothpick and be careful not to scratch other areas of your record. Rubbing the scratch with a toothpick helps get into the small cracks and lift up stubborn debris. To remove pop clicks from the entire recording you can do this by pressing ctrl a or select all from the edit menu. A good habit is to give our records a quick dry clean with a carbon fiber brush before every play.

Usually i ve found that the default threshold values work fine most of the time but feel free to play around wih them a bit to get the sound you desire. Brush the vinyl record very carefully with the toothbrush. Make sure you are extremely gentle when rolling the record in the glue and take extra care not to get the glue in the groves.

A carbon fiber brush is the best tool to remove dust and particles from our records. This tutorial will instruct you on how to remove 3m invisible paint protection film that has become brittle over the years and does not peel off in nice easily manageable strips. Rinse the brush with distilled water once you start to see dirt and lint gathering on the bristles. Once the track is selected click on effect click removal.

This may not fix the scratch but it can help remove any surface debris from your vinyl.
